Accountable Youth Incorporated (AY) was created by two men who grew up in Greensboro, NC. Our Chairman and President, Billy Dee Williams, is a veteran of the United States Air Force and has served two terms in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Our Vice Chairman, Wendell Fortson, earned his Ph.D. from Morehouse School of Medicine and a law degree from North Carolina Central University. After taking notice of the dropout rates in the school system, they both graduated from. As well as taking heed of the disconnect between Law Enforcement and the community in which at-risk youth reside, they felt a strong desire to take action and make a difference for today’s youth.
We believe, to become productive, positive contributing members of society it is essential that all young men obtain a value system that guides them through life. Accountable Youth provides mentorship to at-risk youth who need the encouragement and guidance to achieve just that!
Our value system is based on our "core values." We believe all men should be accountable, responsible, of good character, be leaders among their peers, always be aware of their surroundings and display critical thinking to become positive role models in their communities and homes. So when and if they become father's they can pass these qualities onto their children.
